Hendrickson, Ph.D.
Portfolio Manager
Harland received his Ph.D. in
Biochemistry from the University of California at
Davis
in 1968. After entering the investment business on a full-time basis in
1987, he completed his Charted Financial Planner designation and the Canadian
Securities Course, becoming a stock broker in 1991. In June of 1992, he
started his own mutual fund dealership, Hendrickson Financial Inc. HFI
became licensed as a portfolio management company in 1998 and Harland received
his Portfolio Manager designation in 2001. Due to new regulatory requirements,
HFI relinquished its mutual fund dealership status in 2002, allowing Harland to
focus on discretionary portfolio management. In April of 2005, HFI
individual client accounts were transferred into the newly established HFI
Growth Fund and HFI Income Fund.
Harland began publishing his
research results in 1990, and currently publishes the 4-page Market Trend
Follower™ each month as well as an emailed ETF commentary and performance
ranking each Wednesday and a general market commentary on weekends.
 David
Noble
Associate Portfolio Manager
With over seventeen
years experience in the financial services industry as an Investment Advisor
before joining Hendrickson Financial in October 2006, David brings strengths in
market timing and analysis as well as derivatives trading and hedging
strategies. In addition he has taught numerous courses and seminars on
derivative, option and commodity trading, including at the
University
of Alberta Extension and
Grant MacEwan Community College Extension. He was also the CBC commentator for
stock and market reports for seven years running and served for six years as a Branch
Manager of a national full service brokerage firm.
David has spent the past twenty-four years developing
and refining profitable trading strategies and brings to the HFI team his
portfolio analysis and tactical skills utilizing a sophisticated trading model
developed over the years of his extensive research, training and experience. Mr.
Noble’s strengths in portfolio construction, trading, compliance and risk
management complement HFI’s commitment to exemplary client service and active
portfolio management.
Hyram
Roy Hendrickson
Associate Portfolio ManagerHyram has over
fourteen years of experience working in the investment industry under his father's
guidance. During the first few years he worked mainly as a data
administrator and client service manager, and completed the Canadian Investment
Funds Course. By 2002, he had completed the Canadian Securities Course and
levels one and two of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.
Hyram’s
intuitive focus and major interest in portfolio management is technical
analysis. On a daily basis, he surveys the major markets for trading
opportunities for the firm’s investment pools.
Over the years,
Hyram has played a major role in the development and continual improvement of
HFI’s back-office systems and procedures. He co-edits
the monthly Market Trend Follower™ as well as the firm’s two weekly email
services.
